environmentally sound alternative to how they sample
many of their products today.
Consider these facts:
--A 1 square foot sample of 3cm granite weighs 18 lbs.
--Assuming a 750 mile trip once it reaches a port, twenty
1 square foot samples mentioned above will require one
gallon of diesel fuel to arrive at a distributor's destination.
--Stone samples are typically placed into crush-proof boxes
with packaging contents that equal three times the cubic
volume of the stone.
--Most stone samples go on two journeys to reach their
intended destinations and consume even more diesel fuel.
--After being viewed, most stone samples serve no useful purpose.

Stone Swatch Technology Overview
--Utilizes a durable plastic film that has no compounds containing halogens, sulfur, nitrogen, lead, mercury, cadmium or hexavalent chromium that are intentionally added in the manufacture.
--The plastic film is recyclable with all plastic identification code 01.
--The total embodied energy to manufacture and deliver per pound is estimated to be lower than stone due to the light weight of the plastic film and its ability to be placed into an envelope (vs. a corrugated box and plastic packaging).
--Is GREENGUARD INDOOR AIR QUALITY CERTIFIED
--Currently uses up to 15% recycled content in the manufacture of the film.
--All components of the product are sourced and produced in the United States.
--Provides significant reduction in shipping expense.
--Is not manufactured and does not contain any Class 1 or Class 2 ozone depleting substances as defined under 40 CFR Part 82, Subparts A and E.
--Is a LIFELIKE AND REALISTIC REPRESENTATION of a stone image.
