How good is "good"??  The printed stone replicas produced by Surface Reproductions are going to be used in high school and college Geology classes to teach students about the detailed structure and composition of various stones throughout the world.  Until now, no other company had been able to accurately reproduce stone samples in such perfect detail where a printed sample would suffice.Dr. Nick Frankovits, a professor in the College of Geology at Akron University, recognized the potential immediately after seeing the high quality reproductions of stone surfaces.  "In my 30+ years of experience, I've never seen anything show a stones' actual structure and detailed composition...even of mica and feldspar in a stone" Frankovits said.  "I knew right away that this product was going to be really big."The same detailed images that are being supplied to stone fabricators, architects, interior designers, kitchen and bath designers and consumers are being provided in a slightly different format for our country's grade school, middle school, high school and college students.

    Hudson, Ohio – Surface Reproductions LLC, a solutions provider for merchandizing heavy and expensive products in the surface and coverings markets, has announced the addition of 55 new granite, marble, limestone and slate colors to its line of Surreal Stone Swatches for the building industry, soon bringing the total number of stone images available to 115. The company’s Surreal Stone Swatches are high-end, printed, dimensional samples that provide accuracy currently unavailable from other printed sample companies.

              "We are excited to pass the 100 stone mark so quickly with the addition of these additional marble, onyx, granite, limestone and slate stone colors," said Barry Madel, president of Surface Reproductions. "We've already established ourselves as the premium source for color-correct stone sampling, and these added colors are just one step in reaching our goal of 1000 stone colors by the end of 2010.  We definitely plan to be the destination site and source for stone images and stone samples"
